Over the Weekend....

We Braved the Heat of Yuma AZ

Ella LOVES Candice and Brian's front gate of their house. She always pretends someone is coming over by knocking on the gate and saying: "Knock, Knock, who's there? Oh hi, come on in..." It's really cute and she runs to it first thing when we get there.

Shopping in Downtown Yuma with just the girls

We had a little weekend get-a-way in hot, hot, Yuma, since my sista Sherri came for a visit to check out my parents new place. It's been almost 2 year since I saw my oldest sister. We were very happy to get together with her. I love having my family close like this! Since we moved 2 years ago, it's been hard to be away from family. It's nice to now have some of our family only 2 1/2 hours from SD! Ella loves being able to see her G-Ma Lola and G-Pa Allen more often. Especially since they spoil her way to much. It was great to catch up with Sherri and see how life is in Hawaii (Lucky girl, she gets to live in Honolulu) We spent our time there shopping with the girls, having a family swim in Cana's pool, and eating lots of yummy food with great company. Thanks Can, for always letting us stay at your beautiful home.

Beachside Pedi's And Mani's

Dan's sister came into town over her birthday for a mini Vaca. A present from her new hubby (Awe newlyweds:) We thought it would be fun to have a girly day and get pampered! I colored and cut Louisa's hair in the morning and then we ran off to Pacific beach to get pedi's and Mani's. A pedicure really is one of my favorite things to go get done. I'd get one every week if I could! Ella is quickly following in my footsteps with her love for getting her toes done. She was awesome, she held so still to let her nails dry and didn't touch them once. I love that I have a girly girl on my hands.

After all the pampering we took our tootsies to the beach to soak up a little sun. I think next time we'll hit the beach before the nails, so we don't get them all sandy. But at least our piggies looked darn good walking along the shore.

Well, I Didn't Die

But I came pretty close!

Boot Camp up-date: Today was my second day of boot camp and let me tell you, I hurt EVERYWHERE! Since starting this adventure, I realized just how outta shape I really am. My legs feel like jello and I'm pretty sure I lost a lung after we ran the stadium stairs today. Whew, just 2 whole months more.... But, the way I feel after this early a.m. torture...... AWESOME!! Here's to many more painful mornings. Bring it on!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun....

And that's just what we did!

A Perfectly Spontaneous Afternoon

There is nothing better than a gorgeous Saturday afternoon and no place important you have to be. You get to just be with your family and enjoy life. We both had last Saturday off work and Ella's been dying to ride a train ever since the new cartoon 'Dinosaur Train' started. (cute show on PBS) So we jumped in the car and spent the afternoon at Balboa Park. There were trains to ride, lunch to be eaten, balloon artist and musicians to admire, botanical gardens to relax in, and most importantly family time to be cherished. Luv my little Jones Clan.

Leave Em' Alone For A Min. And Lookie What You'll See

After my Costco run yesterday, I had all my recycleables sitting on the counter waiting to be taken to the garage. I went downstairs to throw a load of laundry in. While I was gone, Ella got her stool and pushed it into to the kitchen to check out what she could get her sticky hands on. She must have thought this milk box looked like a perfectly good place to hang out in. Because when I walked back upstairs, I couldn't help but burst into laughter since this is how I found her. It must have taken her a minute to shimmy her lil self in there. Out of all the boxes to choose from, What in the world made her think of that?

A School? Or A Luxury Resort?

Dan took us on a little tour of the new student center they just opened up at USD. Are you kidding me with this place? It is super nice inside. Plasma screen TVs all over, really nice furniture in all the lounge areas. And the cafeteria looks like some fancy restaurant. Hmmmm, is this where all the spendy tuition we're paying is going to? I've never seen a student center so posh before. But the cafeteria comes at a steep price $10 a plate. Whew, you could go broke eating here. What student can afford that? But Dan does love his school, so I guess if you stuck studying everyday, might as well be in the lap of luxury right!?

The Last Days Of Summer

Things I learned over Labor Day Weekend are:

*I really like going to sporting events, especially if they're date nights with the hubby

*Ella is a HUGE fan of splash parks! Crazy, since this is the kid who has a phobia of swimming and even going near the ocean. I guess she figures she can't drowned in a splash park

*Hitching a ride on top of daddy's shoulders is the best way to arrive at the pool in style

*My little bean is not so little anymore, now that she can finally reach her pedals of her trike and pedal all by herself.

*You can have loads of fun as a family just by helping wash a motorcycle.

*And it's inevitable that by the end of helping wash a motorcycle, you will get completely soaked, due to a spontaneous family water fight.

*Last but not least, In and Out Burger always tastes better on your way home from the beach:)

The Fruits Of My Labor

My Blog Book Is Here

This is the whole reason I even started a blog. I am the worst at keeping a journal and this is the best way (and easiest, in my option) to document and keep a family journal all at once. I LOVE the fact you can print off your blog. I plan to print one every year. I'm so happy we have this to remember all the big and little things that life brings you. With out further ado...take a gander at my 2006-2008 blog book. Warning: You are about to view a major picture overload....enjoy.
