Little Stylist

Remember THIS post? back when Ella was 2

Well...the lil stylist is at it again. She wants to help cut all my clients hair when they come over, and I'm sure she's got mad skillz (the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree...hehe) but I'm guessing my hair clients would not appreciate a 3 1/2 year old cutting their lovely locs. We have a rule when it comes to cutting hair, if you ask her she'll tell you "I can only help cut daddy's hair" So poor Dan gets to be her Ginnie pig....don't worry the scissors are fake.
She's so cute, the other day while cutting Dan's hair she told me "Mommy I want to be just like you when I get big. I wanna be a cutter"
lol. I have to remind her that its hair stylist or I want to cut hair.....cutter sounds a little scary :)

Campland On The Bay

My Parents have become motor home people. They love to travel all around for part of the year in their RV. In the last 4 1/2 months they have been to Ohio, Alberta Canada, Montana, Utah, California and everywhere along the way. Quite adventurous eh?? When they make it our way to SD, they always stay in Mission Bay, at their fav campground spot....Campland on the Bay. Although I'm not much of a motor home girl, I will admit this RV campground is purdy sweet. Privet beach front access, playgrounds, markets, restaurants, boat rentals, pools...really you name it they have it. They stayed here for a week on the way back to their "second home" in Yuma AZ. While they were here, we took full advantage of this place.

They have a million ducks in here. Ella loved feeding them. The lil beggers just started getting pesky to me.

You can rent wave runners, paddle boats, jet ski's, motor boats, kayaks, & canoes. We did the  paddle boat and all 4 of us squished into one boat.... we were laughing so hard...it was fun...great memories.
Poor Dan missed most of the Campland fun... but after work, he meet up with us for lots of yummy dinners (Thanks mom and dad) A fun place we stopped to grab a bite, was the Corvette Diner. It was featured on a show from the food network called 'Diners, Dives and Drive-ins' If your ever in SD you should check it out.
Thanks for a fun week. Glad your back home to relax for a bit. Ella's still talking Grandma & Grandpas "Cool motor home" and thinks it's amazing that "You can drive a house!"

Bright Colors and Sunshine

Nothing beats catching up with great friends on a gorgeous day....

We had lunch.
 A few laughs and giggles.
 Strolled hand in hand
Posed for a few close-ups.
Played underneath a really really cool, really huge, kite.

This thing was awesome.
Watched an interesting/very odd street performer.
Rode the carousel.
Had a fabulous time!
We'll be crossing our fingers you move back to SD soon.

A little Push...A Brave New Girl

Date Night

Its always a goal of mine to have a date night every week.....It's a work in progress :)
We did have a great time last week at the Melting Pot for Dan's buddy's b-day.
(I think this counts towards our weekly date night. No kids = date night)
Still dreaming of the bananas dipped in the peanut butter & chocolate fondue, it changed my life....so good!

Stealing A Smooch!

Yesterday at Church, I was informed by Ella's Sunday School teacher that during the primary program run-through, Ella and Tanner (a lil boy in her sunbeam class) kept kissing through the entire thing!
The funny thing is that Tanner is shy and so not like that.
Me and his mother were shocked, I couldn't help but giggle to myself thinking my daughter had corrupted this lil boy.
But come to find out, when I asked Ella why she stole a few smooches during the Primary Program Practice, she said.....
"Well, we were playing Princess and the frog and he kissed me 1st"
A Kiss for each "ribbit" sound they made. (That's what Tanner told his mom later)
Hahaha....Oh dear, are we in trouble or what!??

Dancing Queen

I decided to put Ella in dance again this year. She was so happy to put back on her tap and ballet shoes. Another perk is she'll be taking dance along with two of her besties, Hallie and Emily.

On their way to class...look how excited they both are. Hallie and Ella were color coordinated. tu-tu cute :)

I had to throw in a few more action shots...these tiny dancers were super duper cute.

They got to use all kinds of props: ribbons, pom-poms, teddy bears, magic wands. Looks like it's going to be a great dance year.

The Great Outdoors

This was our 1st camping trip since moving to Cali and Ella's very 1st camping trip ever! She was sooo excited to sleep in a tent. The whole night before she could hardly sleep, saying she was going to dream all night about sleeping in a tent and eating marshmallows. She's at a really great age to take camping now. We meet up with 6 other families at Palomar Mountain State Park and camped in Cedar Grove. I love hanging out by the fire doing tin foil dinner and smores.

Sleeping with 10 kids ranging from 6 months to 4 is quite the adventure! I think between the 6 different tents, we had one member of a family waking up on the hour :) Made for a fun night, we did still manged to get a little shut eye though. Camping can be a lot of work, but I would totally go again soon.

Ella was quite the little treasure hunter. Her and Emily were on the perfect acorn trek. Ella gathered up all the acorns that could fit into her little cargo pant pockets. So many, she had a hard time keeping her pants up due to the hefty weight of many lil acorns. super cute.

Thanks for organizing this Swenson's and Heathman's. I was really missing the mountains. I grew up camping & even though I'm not a die hard camper, I always want to go come summertime. It was a great way to end the season.

After unpacking from the camping trip and emptying out pockets before throwing the clothes into the wash, this is how many acorns I found in the lil beans pockets.....24! Yep, somehow she squeezed 24 acorns into her itty bitty cargo pockets. Pretty impressive if you ask me :)
