The day that Ella would finally get a decent amount of hair, and then Chop it off!!!
I have always made it very clear to Ella, not to cut her own hair since she watches me daily cut other peoples hair. I've lectured her up and down about never touching mommy's scissors and how only mommy can cut your hair...blah blah blah blah.
Well, apparently I didn't lecture her about her own safety scissors (and yes they do cut hair)
When I asked why she did it she told me: "Well my hair was in my eyes and I couldn't see" she was doing a craft at the time, hence the safety scissors being close at hand in her craft bucket.
Although I get the theory behind the reason for cutting her hair. I was so upset/sad/bummed out. I have fixed many lil girls "own haircuts" in my day and Ella's could have been a lot worse, but still I thought I had avoided it all these years and I was finally in the clear....nope. Here's to a speedy hair growth spurt right??!

Ella did remind me after all was said and done "Don't worry mom it will grow back" Yes I do know that, it's just all the creative ways we will have to style it in the mean time that we have to get through....great ;)

Oh how it still hurts me to think about this! I know how hard that was on you! Darn it, right when her hair was thickening up! Ugh, I'm so scared that Skyla will do this one day and then it would be years before it was back again!

Oh my gosh! I think every little girl cuts her hair at some point. It's funny though, my friend's little girl told her the same excuse- except she cut off all of her bangs.
Business in the front, party in the back! Ella's goin' back to the '80's. Nothing wrong with adding "mullet" to the list of hairstyles she's had. I'm sure she still looks just as cute. :)
That's so funny, Andelyn did that to when she was about 4 with her best friend under a table. You got off easy girl, Andelyn chopped her bangs up to her hairline, there was no hiding it.
I know that must be frustrating for you, but it sure makes for a hilarious story! Jared and I get a good laugh every time we click on that pic.
Hopefully Ella got cutting her own hair out of her system...she still looks so cute!
Oh, how I miss a Kristi hair cut. Ella's hair was so cute. I know how sad you are, I am sorry. Those dang kids :)
I just cut Sadie's hair into an a-line bob (probably not as professionally as you would have done it but it's pretty decent) and lectured her over and over while snipping away that she is NEVER to cut ANYONE's hair, hers, Jack's, ANYONE! It's every mothers nightmare and every hairdressers worst nightmare. Sorry for your loss:-)
I think she looks like a cute little elf in the after picture. It will grow back!
